The hydrogen bus
Kopecký, Petr ; Březina, Michal (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of hydrogen buses, their concept, properties, practical application and economics of operation. It also discusses safety and hydrogen infrastructure, in particular hydrogen production, storage and use, while mentioning future options. Various technical solutions are evaluated with regard to the specifics of buses. It thus offers a general overview of the topic of hydrogen buses and related infrastructure.
Hydrogen technology as a clean energy solution
Pavliska, Vojtěch ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (referee) ; Poláčik, Ján (advisor)
Gradual transition towards renewable sources of energy should be one of the main concerns of today’s society. This does not only concern the production of electricity but also automotive industry. Transportation is the main cause of air pollution in bigger cities and is also responsible for a solid percentage of green-house gases production. For these reasons, it is key to seek more sustainable and eco-friendly ways of motorized vehicles propulsion. Artificially produced hydrogen is one of the more promising alternatives to fossil fuels. This thesis describes the application of fuel cell technology for city busses. It presents some existing examples of hydrogen busses and their comparison with common means of mass transportation.
Survey of the use of propane as refrigerant R290 in cooling circuits and heat pumps
Aminian, Ali ; Prokopová, Olga ; Vinš, Václav
The technical report presents a review on the application of propane as refrigerant R290 in cooling circuits and heat pumps (HVAC). Safety risks of R290 used in HVAC are addressed according to ANSI/ASHRAE and EN standards. Comparison of thermophysical properties of propane with other refrigerants, solubility and miscibility of propane in compressor oils and heat transfer in condenser and evaporator are discussed. The main aim of the study is to provide an overview about the potential use of propane in the cooling circuit and heat pump for the hydrogen bus developed by the SOR Libchavy company.
